In both my professional and personal lives, I seek to engage in transformational service, to do the spadework necessary to bring people together to create a democratic culture, and to develop “group-centered leadership” skills in others. I aim to serve my department, university, and profession; the communities in which I live and work; and the people whose lives I research and about whom I write.
